1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to PaperHumanizer ("Service", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by PaperHumanizer at paperhumanizer.com. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any of these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PaperHumanizer is an AI-powered academic writing tool that helps users rewrite AI-generated text into more naturally written scholarly prose. The Service is intended to assist with writing style, not to replace original academic thought or research.

AI Wrapper Disclosure: PaperHumanizer is powered by third-party AI language models accessed via OpenRouter. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the creators of the underlying AI models (including but not limited to DeepSeek). PaperHumanizer is an independent product that uses these models as a technical component.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You may use PaperHumanizer only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree to use the Service responsibly and ethically.

Permitted uses:

Improving the writing style and readability of your own original academic work
Learning how to vary sentence structure and academic writing conventions
Editing drafts where you are the original author or have authorization

Prohibited uses:

Submitting humanized content as entirely your own original work in contexts where you have been explicitly prohibited from using AI assistance, without disclosure
Using the Service to generate, distribute, or facilitate plagiarism or academic fraud
Attempting to deceive instructors, institutions, or publishers through misrepresentation of authorship
Using the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable laws and regulations
Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service infrastructure
Reselling or redistributing Service outputs as a competing service

Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for how you use the output of this Service, including compliance with your institution's policies on AI use. We strongly encourage transparency with your institution about your use of AI writing tools.

4. User Accounts and Registration

Account Creation: To access certain features, you need to create an account using accurate and complete information.
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.
Notification: You agree to notify us immediately at support@paperhumanizer.com of any unauthorized account access.

5. User Content

You retain full ownership of all text you submit to PaperHumanizer ("User Content"). By submitting text, you grant us a temporary, limited license to process it solely to provide the Service. We do not permanently store your submitted text beyond the duration of your active session. We do not use your submitted content to train AI models.

6. Pricing, Payments, and Subscriptions

All prices are displayed in USD and are inclusive of applicable taxes where required.
Payment processing is handled by Creem, our Merchant of Record. By making a purchase, you also agree to Creem's terms of service and privacy policy.
One-time purchases: Credits purchased as one-time payments do not expire and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
Subscriptions: Monthly and annual subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account's billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to the Service until then.
Refunds: Subscription payments are non-refundable for the current billing period. If you experience a technical failure directly attributable to our Service that prevents you from using your credits, contact us at support@paperhumanizer.com within 7 days and we will review your case.
Prices are subject to change with at least 7 days' notice to existing subscribers.

7. No Guarantee of Detection Outcomes

PaperHumanizer makes no warranty or guarantee that processed text will pass any specific AI detection tool or plagiarism checker. AI detection technology is continuously evolving, and detection outcomes may vary. Results are provided on an "as is" basis and depend on many factors outside our control.

8. Intellectual Property

The PaperHumanizer platform, including its interface, algorithms, and branding, is the intellectual property of PaperHumanizer / paperhumanizer.com. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of our platform without express written permission.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, engaging in fraudulent activity, or conduct harmful to other users or the Service, with or without prior notice.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that outputs will achieve any specific academic or detection result.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PaperHumanizer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to academic penalties, institutional sanctions, or detection outcomes.

By using PaperHumanizer, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
